Love Ranch & Love Collection Vineyards

Love Ranch is farmed by Oscar Ramos.

Our Love wines are thoughtfully curated blends made from some of California’s best unsung varieties. True to the name, we do love sourcing organically grown grapes from these small family vineyards for our Love Red, White, Rosé and Sparkling bottles and cans each year. With wine always being a thoughtful expense, each year we craft our Love wines with the intention of making delicious and affordable wines to enjoy any day and occasion.

Love Ranch
We’ve sourced from Love Ranch since 2013 and it’s the vineyard that inspired our collection of Love wines, beginning initially with our Love White. Love Ranch is a certified organic estate vineyard owned by Steve and Diane Love and farmed by our friend Oscar Ramos who grows nine Rhône varieties throughout the vineyard. We source their Marsanne, Grenache Blanc, Roussanne, and Picpoul, which all go into the Love White blend.
Established in1994, Love Ranch is located 35 miles south of Yosemite National Park in what is now the Madera American Viticultural Area (AVA). With soils of granite schist and sitting at 1,300 feet in elevation, it is not your typical Central Valley vineyard. Through the year, a large amount of leaves are kept on the vines to protect against the heat. During late spring and throughout the summer months prevailing winds cool the vineyard and help create wines with intense aromas and flavors. The larger crop size disperses much of the sun’s energy and prevents the sugars from spiking, which results in lower alcohol too.

Hartwick Vineyard

Our 2022 harvest was the first time we harvested fruit from Hartwick, bringing in their Orange Muscat. The vineyard resides in the Mokelumne River AVA in San Joaquin County where the Mediterranean climate brings hotter days and cooler nights. The vineyard’s distinctive sandy loam provides good drainage and forces the roots to dig a little deeper. The vine’s extra work results in richer fruit flavors at harvest. We’re excited to continue working with the Orange Muscat and see where future vintages take us.

Windmill Vineyards

Windmill Vineyards are 146 acres of not only vineyards but also fruit trees such as olives and figs. Organically farmed, it has pink hued alluvial soils along the rolling hills within Yolo County’s Dunnigan Hills AVA. The warmer climate helps the fruit ripen fast, which is one reason we pick early to help perverse the acidity we love. Sergio Villanueva farms the vineyard for the owner Jeff Morgan.
