2025 Amore Bianco
THE STORY: The Bianco bursts with beautiful aromatics of tropical fruits. And on the palate - refreshing and lighthearted fresh cut mango and other stone fruits evolve in the glass in a refreshing way. For this vintage we have Tocai Fruilano and Trebbiano showcasing the fresher, livelier side of an Italian inspired skin contact wine. Both grapes are hand harvested from Fox Hill Vineyard just at the start of September.
The Trebbiano was destemmed and left on the skins to naturally ferment in stainless open top tank for 5 days with daily punch downs and pumpovers. It was gently pressed to develop and aged in a mix of neutral oak barrels and Stockinger puncheons for 8 months.
The Tocai Friulano was destemmed to naturally ferment into sandstone jarre for 2 weeks on its skins with gentle punch downs and pumpovers twice daily. After being pressed, it went back into sandstone jarre to age and develop over 8 months. Both blended together right before bottling.
We fall more in love with what the sandstone jarre and now Stockinger puncheons add to the wine each year. It’s a great example of the role vessels can play in bringing a wine to life.
FUN FACT: Our first vintage of Amore Bianco was 2019 and it was 100% Tocai Fruilano.
