THE STORY: Our second bottling of Negroamaro, a wine that complements every season. Traditionally used as a component in our Amore Rosso blend to add aromatic lift and brightness, this year's harvest once again stood out on its own and deserved a separate bottling to fully showcase its character. When the fruit arrived, we destemmed and kept it on the skins for 10 days, with daily pumpovers until fermentation started. After extracting beautiful color from the skins, we gently pressed 75% of the wine into neutral oak barrique and the remaining 25% concrete. After fermentation the wine was racked into a concrete tank where it aged for 8 months.
FUN FACT: Negroamaro is a drought-resistant grape mostly found in Southern Italy and often is used as a blending grape.
