Our inspiration for Vine Starr comes from where Beaujolais meets the Northern Rhône. The wine has evolved since our first vintage in 2006, when it was a blend of Zinfandel and Syrah. It's been 100% Zinfandel since 2009, sourced from Arrowhead and Buck Hill Vineyards, two sites that bookend the town of Sonoma. Every year, the goal is to build the best Zinfandel from our best barrels across both vineyards; this vintage is 57% Arrowhead and 43% Buck Hill. We always harvest early to preserve acidity and bright fruit, then let the destemmed fruit ferment natively in open-top stainless steel before aging in neutral French oak barrique.

FUN FACT: This wine has an international following – once featured in the Japanese manga series, Drops of God.

Tasting Notes
Huckleberry, Blackberry, Breakfast tea, Cacao and Redwood.
