This is a rare treat and opportunity to explore eight vintages of the Michael Mara Chardonnay, starting with our very first vintage! This valuable collection showcases how this dry, lean and light-bodied Chablis-style Chardonnay from the Sonoma Coast AVA evolves over time. This wine has a balance of fruit and acidity that is adored by both the wine novice and connoisseur. All vintages are drinking well and ready to enjoy today, or tuck a few bottles away for a future celebration.
What is special about the Michael Mara Chardonnay is how well it captures a sense of place and time. Our Chardonnay is made from a modest allocation of vines in the Michael Mara Vineyard, located just west of the Sonoma town square along the Sonoma Mountain range. It’s a distinctive site where the fruit receives a kiss of marine air and minerality from the rocky soil. We gently pressed the whole cluster grapes, fermented in steel tank and aged in a mix of Stockinger puncheons and neutral barriques.
This opportunity won’t last long. Grab a glass, your closest friends and step back in time with these eight special single varietal vintages, including several years only available in this collection:
