Notes & Tones –  The Wine

Inspired by the natural wine titans of Italy and France. Notes & Tones is a blend of two Italian varieties from Fox Hill Vineyard. The Tocai Friulano was fermented on the skins with native yeasts in sandstone jarres for 10 days, then basket pressed back into the jarres to age. The Trebbiano was fermented with native yeasts on its skins for three days, then pressed into sandstone jarres to finish fermentation and aged for 10 months. No sulfur added during fermentation, aging or at bottling.

Fox Hill is an organically farmed, 60-acre vineyard on Mendocino benchland between Hopland and Ukiah. A little slice of Italy, home to 25 Italian grape varieties. Chris Brockway of Broc Cellars farms and makes wines from Fox Hill Vineyards, a unique vineyard in Northern California.

Notes & Tones – The Album

Produced by DJ Muggs, made with samples from Sun Ra. The only name that fit it was that of the landmark book by the great jazz drummer Art Taylor.  Muggs complimented Chris’s wine with music that Egon sourced from the landmark catalog of the cosmic jazz musician Sun Ra, with all samples cleared by his Estate. A Soul Assassins x Now-Again collaboration.
